Kwizda Agro Employees Collect 36,000 Kilometers for a Good Cause
Second “KM Challenge” Results in €6,000 Donation to Green Care Initiative
Vienna, September 11, 2025 … Coming together to walk, cycle, and make a difference: This was the motto under which Kwizda Agro held its second company-wide KM Challenge this year. Employees from Austria, Hungary, and Romania – all part of the leading crop protection provider – collectively covered a remarkable total of 36,000 kilometers by walking or cycling over recent weeks. For every kilometer completed in Austria, Kwizda Agro donated a set amount to the Green Care initiative. The symbolic check was presented on September 10, 2025, to representatives Günther Mayerl (Managing Director, Green Care GmbH), Maria Hötschl (Chairwoman, WIR für greencare), and Catalina Bardewyk (Manager Sustainability & Strategy, Kwizda Agro).
Thanks to the team’s sporting commitment, Kwizda Agro was able to hand over a donation check worth €6,000 this year. The campaign not only encouraged greater daily physical activity amongst staff but also set a clear example of lived sustainability and corporate social responsibility.
“Our employees are eager to support Green Care because the initiative helps small-scale farms diversify. It enables them to expand beyond agriculture by offering social, educational, and therapeutic services to the community. Green Care showcases the broader value of agriculture – far beyond just providing food,” says Ronald Hamedl, Managing Director of Kwizda Agro.
Green Care also expressed its gratitude:
“We extend our heartfelt thanks to Kwizda Agro and its dedicated employees. Their support allows us to create innovative social projects in rural areas that offer new opportunities for children, the elderly, and people with disabilities. At the same time, this strengthens small-scale agriculture in Austria – Green Care is fast becoming a key source of income for many farmers,” said Günther Mayerl, Managing Director of the Green Care Development and Consultancy GmbH.
Every year, Kwizda Agro supports initiatives in education, social responsibility, and sustainability within its communities. The KM Challenge is a prime example: launched in Austria in 2024 and expanded internationally for the first time in 2025, it motivates employees over several months to log as many kilometers as possible by foot or bike. While last year’s donations supported City Farm Augarten, this year, staff voted for Green Care as the beneficiary.
